Roberto Cavalli Shares His Thinking with Vogue

Fashion designers are very creative people. They see us in a different way and we often don't understand how a particular baggy shirt could make us look good. What they were even thinking about. I have never heard more critism about a collection than Prada 2010 - completely wrinkled, dull colours and undefined shapes. Am I suppose to wear that?
Well, Roberto Cavalli always has explanation to why he thinks his designs are worth our bodies. Recently he gave a candid interview to Vogue Magazine and shed some light on his creative process.

To the question why he likes animal print Roberto Cavalli said that once he started to pay attention to animals he realized that God created them beautiful, so he just copied God. Woman dress was beautiful, so did the snake dress. Ahhh... what an explanation.

From the interview we learn that his ideal woman is a happy woman. This explains the colorful dresses and light fabrics that can only be imagined on a woman that wears it with the smile and inner elegance. So, his dresses will either make you happy or unless you happy you won't wear them.

And of course the interview didn't pass without a bit of controversy. Roberto Cavalli has claimed himself "The only straight designer in fashion". To reporter challenge whether Ralph Lauren is, he said "Are you sure?". It is not clear whether he meant that Ralph Lauren is gay or whether he is not a real designer. Hm... how about ... well I can't think of any other straight designer other than these two. Cavalli is right after all.
